About The Fight For You Project

A purpose-driven organization dedicated to helping people, bringing awareness, and eradicating mental illness stigma. The project founded by Sara, Amanda, and Geoff started from their personal experiences with mental health and a desire to help people, promote awareness and work to end the stigma around mental illness. With support groups The slogan ‘We will fight for you until you can fight for yourself’ was adopted when Amanda was fighting for her life because of the quantity of pills that the doctor had prescribed for diagnoses of bipolar disorder. Sara and Geoff stepped in 24/7 as she detoxed off the medication because no doctor would assist for worry of a misdiagnosis. The cost to receive detox and assessment treatment varied from $15,000 and up. We are all impacted in some form by mental illness either first-hand, through a friend or an acquaintance. With our goal of setting up healing and resource centre’s we will give people a safe place to talk about their situation and to give them the resources and support needed to help them fight. ‘We will fight for you until you can fight for yourself.’ You are not alone.
