About The Food Ratings Guild
Founded in 2013 by a group of like-minded catering professionals, The Food Ratings Guild exists to protect, maintain and defend our members' interests with regards to their Food Hygiene Rating. We fundamentally support rigorous enforcement of food safety legislation, and work to advise food-facing businesses how to best adhere to the guidelines. However, we do believe the present scheme to be both divisive and subjective. This means it is open to interpretation, and could potentially, and unfairly, encroach onerous demands of regulation, particularly on companies already struggling in a recessive economic climate. We will continue to support the 'pass/fail' system as an alternative. In our view, this provides suitable implementation periods for businesses needing improvement.
