About The Fourth Space
Most youth in underserved communities move between three main spaces: home, school or work, and a gathering space like a mosque or sports team. At The Fourth Space, we create a fourth space - one dedicated to connection, creativity, and well-being. Through arts, play, and sport, we foster positive youth development, mental health literacy, and play-based learning for marginalized youth, adults, and their communities. Our approach is joyful, culturally rooted, and play-based. We’ve launched Pakistan’s first ringette program in the mountains of Chitral Valley, facilitated arts-based mental health programs for over 200 youth and 300 educators and mothers across Pakistan, and are now based in Calgary. Here, we’ve partnered with the Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association, delivered a City of Calgary–funded series of workshops that used the arts to build connection, and are about to launch a new program - stay tuned!
