About The Freedom Committee of Orange County
The U.S. Military veteran members of the Freedom Committee of Orange County proudly bring to our local schools and organizations a "Living History” of World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, the Cold War, and Persian Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan Wars. From World War II, personal stories are shared of Pearl Harbor, the Dieppe raid, Battle of the Bulge, D-Day, air battles over the South Pacific and over Fortress Europe, flying the Hump in the China-Burma-India Theater, bombing of the Ploesti Oil Fields, experiences of being Prisoners of War, and freeing inmates of German concentration camps. From the Korean and Vietnam Wars, battle experiences are shared of places like Pusan, Inchon, Chosin Reservoir, Da Nang, A Shau Valley, Khe Sanh, the Tet offensive, and the Ho Chi Minh Trail. From more recent conflicts, we share personal experiences from the Middle East wars. Our veterans are fully trained, available, and eager to speak at schools on these Living History topics at the request of educators who may wish to supplement their respective classes.
