The Fret No More Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating academic excellence and empowering young women through studying music and playing the guitar. We repair, restore, clean up and give old guitars a new life…And provide “high end” guitars, cases and amps to young women in urban communities to give music students the opportunities to explore their talents, uplift their confidence and be inspired through playing the guitar. Our guitars are donated from professional studio musicians to amateurs and some of the best guitar players on Broadway! According to a study at Harvard University…”Children who learned to play a musical instrument were the equivalent of about one academic year ahead of their peers with regard to their English, mathematics and science skills, as measured by their exam grades”.
