Our staff are psychodynamically trained. The psychodynamic approach attaches importance to coming to know ourselves more fully by giving particular consideration to what may be out of our immediate awareness. Our staff are trained to work with unconscious processes and to work with how your past may be impacting on you in the present – this can also extend to how it may impact on your relationship with your counsellor. The aim of doing so is to help address root problems, and enable you to develop psychological capacities and resources that enable you to live and relate to others in a more meaningful and fulfilling way. There is evidence that this approach is effective in supporting clients to make such changes and that clients can continue to benefit from their therapy after it has concluded.
