Working at the nexus of community and the built environment, we’re transforming cities into truly inclusive, gender-equitable places. Our multi-layered approach includes: Diagnostic Indices: Developing tools—like the Gendered Walkability and Public Space Access Indices—to measure and reveal the systemic barriers women face. FEM.DES Academy: Offering training, research, and participatory methods that dismantle outdated urban planning paradigms and build feminist spatial literacies. Knowledge Dismantling: Challenging and reframing dominant urban narratives by surfacing silenced histories and lived experiences through storytelling, mapping, and data. Partnership Building: Collaborating with grassroots groups, local governments, design professionals, and academic institutions to co-create solutions tailored to each city’s unique context. Our vision is an urban future where women move freely and confidently—where policies, plans, and public spaces reflect and respond to their needs, aspirations, and agency.
