About The Generative Art Museum
The Generative Art Museum (TGAM) was born in 2020 within a collective of engineers when we first encounter creative coding facing a project development. The concept quickly clicked between us and we discovered a new world that connected two fundamental passions we share: technology and art. At that time and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had quite a lot of time to develop the project goals and decide it\'s first moves. During the lockdown, art exhibitions (and any other real life events) were nothing but an illusion, so we decided to use something that is open 24/7: the metaverse. The promise of virtual worlds to develop a real alternative where people can interact with each other and digital content in real-time seemed to be the right way to proceed. Metaverse offers a collective virtual shared space that is part of the internet but goes beyond traditional web browsing and social media interactions. Users can engage with a variety of experiences, such as exploring virtual worlds, participating in social activities, creating and trading digital assets, attending events and performances, and engaging in commerce and business interactions. It is envisioned as a persistent and evolving digital realm that transcends the boundaries of individual platforms or applications. After a few months of exploring the available options, the collective decided to buy a piece of land in voxels and build the first venue of The Generative Art Museum. Located in 37 Via Abitare Way in Miami Island, the museum venue was born. Our first exhibition "Issue #01: for the love of art" kickstarted operations in December 2021 featuring the work of Marcelo Soria-Rodríguez, Ismahelio and Synesthesia. Since then artists like Zancan, Zach Lieberman, Lisa Orth, Andreas Rau, Anna Carreras, Lars Wander, Rudxane, Licia He, Thomas Lin Pedersen, Ismahelio and DEAFBEEF have already joined the TGAM in several exhibitions exploring different styles and concepts of generative art.
