About The Glamour Club Pioneering Vintage & Themed Events
Our mission is to establish a Glamour Club (GC)* in every town, city and village in the UK. We will take the lead in helping to create a world where loneliness and the effects of social isolation no longer exist. Our success will be measured by redeeming entire communities and we shall achieve this by inspiring other organisations, leaders, change-makers and individuals to partner a laudable movement which strives to eliminate loneliness and tackle – head on - the potentially devastating effects of social isolation. The GC is a “great night out” which is held in the safety and convenience of daytime, and is both vintage and themed. Our guests are treated like kings and queens. Live entertainment with songs from the 40s-70s and afternoon tea served by table hosts on fine bone china. Guests enjoy a fun afternoon of chatting, singing, dancing and most importantly making new friends. We generally target an age range of 50+ but anyone who is lonely or has felt the effects of social isolation will be most welcome. We are Dementia friends and eco-friendly. The GC is run entirely by volunteers who not only spoil the guests but have an absolute ball themselves. The GC originated from the companion service set up in 2017 - It Socks To Be Lonely Sometimes.
