The Glinda Factor is a website for tween and teen girls, their parents, and anyone else who wants to be inspired. The Glinda Factor offers an interactive library of stories of girls and women (“Glinda Gals”) who influenced every aspect of America’s history. Carefully curated photos and videos, plus a historical timeline, accompany each story. The Glinda Factor features a new Glinda Gal every Tuesday. The Glinda Gals are sorted into 10 categories designed to appeal to a wide range of interests: Adventurers, Artists, Athletes, Businesswomen, Culture Changers, Entertainers, Health Heroes, Inventors, Patriots, and Scientists. Glinda Gals include women of different ages, racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds, and come from all eras of American history. Each Glinda Gal’s story is told through the lens of a specific moment in time, the “Ruby Shoes Moment,” when she believed in her power to make a difference in the world. Each story begins with this critical accomplishment, and then flashes back to how the Glinda Gal arrived at her Ruby Shoe Moment. Each story also includes “The Power of the Wand,” which points readers to a teen or young woman today who is carrying on the Glinda Gal’s legacy.
