About The Goalie Academy

The Goalie Academy is dedicated to goaltending skill development and the advancement of the careers of the goalies we train. Our main operation is located in the Washington DC area, where we operate The Goalie Academy Training Center in Sterling, VA. We provide private instruction, camps, clinics, and we also coach at team practices for organizations that contract our services. We pride ourselves on our results. Founder and Director, Darren Hersh, has developed goalies that have gone on to play AHL, CHL, ECHL pro hockey as well as NCAA college hockey. Through his position as Goalie Coach for Reading Royals, 2013 Kelly Cup Champions, Hersh has coached four goalies who have spent time in the NHL.
