About The GR Guide

If you live in Grand Rapids or you’re planning to visit you’ve come to the right place. Here you’ll find the inside scoop on new restaurants, fun events, interviews with inspirational locals, and insight into my favorite places in Grand Rapids. As a Grand Rapids girl (born and raised) I’m excited to be your guide around this awesome city and bring you a local’s perspective. I can only assume that you’re wondering why I should be your tour guide so let me give you a little background. I spent 5 years in Chicago after attending Calvin College working in advertising & fashion and started a lifestyle blog Project Soiree that featured interviews, restaurant reviews, recipes and the latest fashion trends. After returning to Grand Rapids I was thrilled to see the growth from local entrepreneurs who are making their mark and came up with the idea for The GR Guide to showcase these unique boutiques, events and delicious restaurants. I’m extremely passionate about the growth of this city and I’m thrilled to show off how incredible Grand Rapids truly is.
