The Grand Baby Project: A New Era in Dementia Care At The Grand Baby Project, we are redefining dementia care by bringing companionship and purpose to seniors through the innovative use of dementia doll therapy. We are the only organization in the U.S. dedicated to providing comprehensive training and certification in this field. Our mission is deeply personal, inspired by my grandmother, Ruby, who found peace and comfort in a baby doll during her final years. This powerful, firsthand experience taught us that a simple doll can bring a sense of purpose and calm during times of insomnia, agitation, and anxiety. Research confirms that this non-pharmacologic approach reduces challenging behaviors like sun-downing, wandering, and aggressive outbursts. We provide more than just a doll; we offer a complete therapeutic program that includes delivering lifelike dolls and training staff to use them as part of a therapeutic engagement plan. Through our community "Baby Shower" events, we equip senior living staff with the knowledge and tools to ensure residents receive the maximum benefit.
