About The Grief Space
Creating space for grief within yourself and community, through one to one support, group grief circles and a variety of workplace offerings. Grief comes in many forms, whether it is a relationship that ended, the regrets we hold, people we’ve lost, unmet hopes and expectations or the longing for deeper meaning and connection. However, despite this universality, we find it difficult to grieve and often do not know where to begin. As a culture we have lost touch with the skills, traditions and stories that help us navigate loss, and so we are left to walk its lonely road unsupported and misguided. This is never more relevant than within our organisations. We have no language for grief at work. It doesn’t fit into our world of targets, growth, strategy or productivity. Grief destabilises focus, consistency, and drive - the very things we describe as ‘talent'. Yet it’s the most common universal experience. As a business psychologist and learning and development consultant I have seen the workplace smash many taboos in recent years. However, grief is still largely unspoken about. As we aspire to create inclusive work cultures, grief needs our embrace so that we can empower managers and colleagues to feel capable of having these all too difficult conversations. Understanding grief at work is critical to supporting colleagues to feel acknowledged and valued, ultimately impacting their engagement, wellbeing and long-term commitment. We offer: - Workshops on how to talk about grief, loss and significant change in the workplace for managers and colleagues who want to feel knowledgeable and capable of creating an inclusive culture to support each other through difficult times. - Transition coaching support for individuals to process and integrate their grief by creating the space to be present and compassionate to themselves, while also exploring how to adjust and transition back into work.
