About The Grolier Club
The Grolier Club's purpose is to foster the study, collecting, appreciation, and celebration of books, works on paper, and their related arts and crafts, particularly their art, history, production, circulation, and commerce. The Club shall pursue this mission through the maintenance of a library devoted to all aspects of the book and graphic arts and especially bibliography; through occasional publications designed to illustrate, honor, promote and encourage the book and related arts; through exhibitions and educational programs for its members and the general public; and through the maintenance of a Club building for the safekeeping of its property, and otherwise suitable for the purposes and culture of the club. The Club will take as its inspiration the spirit of collegiality and fellowship embodied in the motto of its namesake, Jean Grolier: Joannis Grolierii et Amicorum (Of Jean Grolier and Friends).
