Every piece commissioned from The Handmade Jewellery Company is crafted in the traditional manner using the finest raw materials; the metal that is teased into daring mounts with astonishing detail is always 18-carat white, yellow, rose gold or platinum; the precious stones are sourced from the world’s most renowned gemstone markets in New York, Antwerp and Mumbai, and are always conflict-free. Once these raw materials have been sourced for the client, everything about the piece of jewellery is designed and created entirely in-house. Barry Jacobs himself will visit clients or welcome them to the workshop to discuss the piece they wish to create. In-house watercolour painters and artists will then prepare design mock-ups for clients to review, amend and approve. "Only when every ‘i’ has been dotted and every ‘t’ has been crossed, and the client is entirely comfortable that the design really reflects what they had in mind, will work begin", explains Barry Jacobs, Owner of The Handmade Jewellery Company.
