Many of these are still going strong and benefitting the wider community today in a variety of different ways. - We employ staff members who are themselves local residents, who were initially supported as community activists and volunteers within the community - Originated and developed from within the community, meaning we are uniquely positioned to effectively bring together a wide range of activities; including community development work, detached and project-based youth work, and the provision of community learning courses and IT support, to improve the quality of life for our residents - We are privileged to have a high level of resident involvement in all HKP’s activities - Innovative, flexible and always willing to try new approaches for the benefit of the wider community - Still going strong after 41 years, HKP is a good practice model of how a community can effectively develop and manage its own resources
