Dr. Pat Heim, CEO and best selling author, has been leading the Heim Group since 1985. Dr. Heim is internationally recognized as an expert in the area of research on gender issues and differences in the workplace. She has brought together a team of speakers and facilitators dedicated to identifying and solving the gender-related issues invisibly present in business today Her pursuit to understanding how both cultures are different began when she worked for a Fortune 500 company. During a meeting, she witnessed two high level executives viciously ripping each others’ ideas apart. Her stomach churned as she sat there and observed the venom fly. The meeting was eventually adjourned and Pat walked out behind the two combatants and one turned to the other and said, “Wanna get a beer?” This made no sense from Pat’s perspective but she realized that if she was going to be successful in their world she needed to understand the rules of the male culture. Pat began to read all the research available on gender differences and share it with others Pat’s passion to help men and women understand those cultural differences, learn to speak each others’ language and value each other which was the foundation for development of the GenderSpeak Workshop and began a longstanding relationship with Tammy Hughes. Tammy came to the Heim Group from a highly successful sales career with a background in training. She and Pat worked side by side to develop GenderSpeak which was launched in 2000.
