About The Hellenic Initiative Australia
The Hellenic Initiative Australia was established in 2015 to support the ground breaking work The Hellenic Initiative has been doing to support recovery and renewal in Greece. It is a national, not-for-profit organisation committed to working together to increase Australian participation in this global effort and to develop uniquely Australian programs of support. The Hellenic Initiative was founded in 2012 by members of the global Greek and philhellene communities who were compelled to respond to the worsening economic crisis in Greece and who were inspired to help shape Greece’s long-term recovery. Former US President Bill Clinton is the organisation's Patron and the Global THI board includes high-profile business leaders Andrew N Liveris AO, former Chairman & CEO of Dow Chemical Company, George Stamas, Senior Partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Arianna Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post and Muhtar Kent, former Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola Company. The Hellenic Initiative Australia’s Board of Directors comprises some of Australia’s most esteemed Greek community and business leaders, with representatives from all mainland states, making it a unique organisation uniting Greek-Australians for a common cause.
