About The Helpers Organization

The Helpers Organization's mission is to provide assistance to our homeless and low- income families in the Hampton Roads communities by addressing the needs of affordable housing, economic development, and neighborhood revitalization. We offer free referral services and financial assistance on a case-by-case basis. Our Programs: Information & Referral Program - The Helpers Organization Information and Referral Management Program is a free and confidential service designed to connect people in need with appropriate resources in their community. Homelessness Prevention - The program is now to help people who have been disconnected already or is currently pending a disconnection. The client would have to have made a payment towards the bill within the last 30 days and the bill must reflect last payment date and amount. Family of the Month - Family of the Month is our new outreach program at The Helpers Organization, highlighting and giving two weeks of sustenance to struggling families in our Hampton Roads communities. Families have the option to nominate themselves, but are restricted one entry per family each month. Families are randomly selected.
