About The Hire Calling Foundation

The Hyer Calling Foundation, Inc. is a Philadelphia-based tax exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to reduce the stigma of Substance Use Disorder in the workplace. The Foundation advocates for the recovery community in two principle ways: (1. Educate the public and business community on the benefits of creating and sustaining a Recovery-Friendly Workplace (2. Help highly motivated people in recovery get a real second chance at a career through a program that provides those accepted no-cost individualized support & transitional services not covered by insurance to enable them to secure and maintain long term employment We believe that the addiction recovery experience is so powerfully transformative that those who undergo it are uniquely equipped to help the bottom line. The meaning, purpose & stability derived from that second chance and the gratitude for it has the capacity to draw down the pull of addiction to a manageable level, with treatment, not only saving lives but stabilizing them, helping to break what is often an intergenerational cycle. The Hyer Calling Foundation’s prime collaborative partners are Recovery Centers of America and the law firm Obermayer, Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel, LLP. Through this collaboration they provide Recovery-Friendly Workplace training and advocate for the legal recovery community by raising awareness of the disproportionately high rates of Substance Use Disorder among the Bar & Bench.
