About The Hotel Investment Fund (HIF)
The Hotel Investment Fund (HIF) was established to provide financial support to Irish Hotels which have been adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The fund provides hotel owners with gap-funding over the medium term (3-year investment) to allow their business to recover and grow post-Covid. The HIF provides a 3-year preference equity investment (subordinated to senior/bank debt), with no interest payable until redemption at the end of the term. Fund Overview A €50m fund managed by Pembroke Hospitality and BVP Investment with funding provided by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF). ISIF is a sovereign investment fund with a mandate to invest on a commercial basis to support economic activity and employment in Ireland. The funding can be used for: • Working capital and cash flow funding • Capital expenditure • Green and environmentally sustainable investment funding. The HIF can invest up to €5m to a single hotel/group with a minimum investment of €500k. Competitive interest rate reflecting the nature of the unsecured investment.
