About The How-To Series

The How-To Series is a youth-led organization dedicated to closing the intergenerational knowledge and skills gap by preparing young people (ages 16–24) for today’s dynamic world of work. We focus on equipping youth with the tools, resources, and skillset needed to confidently enter and excel in their careers; from first jobs to long-term professional growth. At the core of our mission is a simple but powerful philosophy: teach the how, not just the what. We go beyond traditional career advice by offering hands-on, contextual support that demystifies workplace expectations, reduces costly trial-and-error, and helps young people make informed decisions about their lives and professional journeys. Through a blend of webinars, workshops, mentorships, school outreach, and storytelling-driven resources, We connects emerging talents with experienced professionals across sectors, equipping them with tailored insights on career-building, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning. We create safe, practical spaces for young people to learn how to navigate the workplace; from how to negotiate and effectively communicate to how to build professional and personal brands, ask questions, solve problems, and grow with clarity and excellence. Here, we bridge generational divides, build confidence, and spark a culture of excellence in youth development. Our work aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 4, particularly target 4.4, as we strive to significantly increase the number of young people with relevant skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship by 2030. By focusing on career readiness and workplace literacy, we aim to empower a generation of young people who are skilled, strategic, and ready to lead. At its heart, the organization exists to help young people transition from education to employment with confidence, while shaping a future where youth are not just included in the workforce, but fully equipped to lead and thrive within it.
