About The Human Survival Project

The Human Survival Project helps the human race become an intentional and forward-looking species with the global tools to improve itself and protect itself from global catastrophic threats. We are building a grassroots movement encouraging citizens around the world to push for transformation of the United Nations system. Managing global risks requires strong global systems. Our work includes The Human Survival Podcast, available on YouTube, Spotify and most podcast platforms. Issues we address: Climate change Destruction of nature Pandemics Weapons of mass destruction & war generally Potentially dangerous technology - artificial intelligence, synthetic biology, chemicals, etc. Global inequality Climate-driven mass migration Most importantly, we push for a strong United Nations that can, among other things: * Manage the global economy & limit humans' consumption of the planet * Protect nature, in partnership with indigenous people * Maintain strong global public health systems to reduce pandemic risk and react quickly to contain outbreaks. * Offer shared military security services to the world & negotiate drawdown of nations' troops and weapons stockpiles. Redesign military incentives to reduce dangerous arms races & limit risk of emerging military technologies. * Create global infrastructure for regulating risky technologies (AI, synthetic biology, virus research, chemicals, etc.) * Reduce inequality by redesigning institutions to help developing countries (e.g. IMF, World Bank) to reduce debt, natural resource extraction and other harms. Create a fair playing field in global trade. * Negotiate agreements to resettle the large numbers of expected climate refugees, with financial support to help host countries. As this campaign grows, it will: Educate the general public Organize on college campuses Carry out street demonstrations & art installations Build coalitions across policy issues Partner with musicians & other celebrities ... and much, much more
