About The Hunslet Club
Based at the heart of South Leeds, The Hunslet Club has been helping young people to achieve their full potential for over 80 years. With a membership of over 2500 young people accumulating almost 67,000 individual visits we are one of the largest youth organisations in the country serving the local community in one of the most economically deprived area of Leeds. Our work delivers a range of activities to children & young people aged 18 months to 25 years providing an extensive programme of sports, arts and other activities. Delivering over 90 individual sessions each week with an average attendance of 170 young people each day, activities include football, boxing, gymnastics, rugby, cheer-pom, drama club, hip-hop, ballet, tap and majorettes. Click here to view our latest timetable.The Club is open 7 days a week and our evening and weekend activity programme operates from 4.00pm – 9.00pm on weekdays and 9.00am to 1.00pm on weekends. The activity programme develops young people by raising confidence levels, providing vital opportunities to socialise with peer groups, learn new skills, live healthier lifestyles and develop self respect and respect for other that allows them to become responsible young citizens Membership is free and participation in activities ranges from free for Youth Club to £2.00 for our ever popular gymnastics sessions that see over 200 young people per week participate in. Our pricing policy has remained the same for over 10 years and ensures accessibility for all regardless of social or economic circumstances The Club also has an established Alternative Education provision delivering courses leading to accredited vocational qualifications in sport, engineering, hair & beauty and catering for 14 – 16 year olds. The courses are targeted at young people from a range of challenging backgrounds. Over 120 students access our provision each week from a broad range of high schools across Leeds and the surrounding area
