About The Ice Cream Farm
Tom and Margaret Fell moved to Drumlan Hall Farm with their sons, Graeme and Jonathan, in 1980. When Milk Quota restrictions were introduced a few years later, they looked for ways to add value to the excess milk their 300 dairy cows were producing. They began manufacturing real dairy ice cream, initially selling their product in a small onsite ice cream parlour. As word spread about the quality of the ice cream, local pubs, restaurants and hotels started requesting orders. Over the years, vacant farm buildings were adapted to increase and improve facilities and with growing numbers, The Ice Cream Farm tourist attraction was born. Since 2015, more than £5 million has been spent on a complete redevelopment. The site now holds the Guinness World Record for the largest ice cream shop in the world. It attracts around half a million visitors a year and these numbers make it the most visited attraction of its kind in the North West. Owner Jonathan Fell has long cited his Ice Cream Farm vision of “creating our own marketplace to sell our award-winning Cheshire Farm Ice Cream”. And it is this vision that was behind 2022's launch of The Ice Cream Drive In. Valuing unique family fun, The Ice Cream Farm wants to be renowned for the most extraordinary family-orientated experiences, attracting not just those who want to stay and play, but thanks to the new Ice Cream Drive In, those who want their founding experience – a scoop of award-winning dairy ice cream.
