About The Institute for Conscious Being
The Institute for Conscious Being (ICB) exists for the sole purpose of enabling the journey to essence, one’s true self. In this endeavor, many can benefit from the wisdom of spiritual pathways that specifically provide a means to return to that essential self. This return to essence is also called consciousness, which is a heightened awareness of reality and compassion for all beings. The basic spiritual paradigm espoused and taught by the ICB is the ancient wisdom of the Spirituality of the Enneagram. Essentially, the Enneagram is a spiritual map to one’s soul. It is an illuminating means of self-realization and return to consciousness. Founded by Joseph Howell, Ph.D., author of the book "Becoming Conscious: The Enneagram's Forgotten Passageway," each year the Institute of Conscious Being holds conferences and training events across the southeast.
