About The Laurels School
Independent Education with a Catholic Ethos for Girls aged 11 - 18. At The Laurels, our aim is for your daughter to achieve academic excellence and to forge a compass for life. Situated in South London, The Laurels is rated 'excellent' by ISI for pupils' academic achievement and for their personal development. It is one of the top schools for families seeking a single sex girls' education. Character education is a key feature of the programme on offer at The Laurels and each girl has her own personal tutor. We believe that parents are the first educators of their children and tutors meet with their tutees' parents each term. As well as providing an outstanding academic education, The Laurels offers a wide variety of co-curricular opportunities to give teenage girls an enriching education and every opportunity to achieve success and find their personal strengths and talents. There is a wide variety of sport on offer, including football, netball, swimming, volleyball, badminton, gymnastics. Girls play a range of musical instruments and there are ensembles and choirs. Drama and art are both popular with high levels of participation. We enjoy regular success in competitions and girls enjoy participating in Model United Nations, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and the Sports Young Leaders programme. Families interested in learning more about how a Laurels education could help their daughter to flourish are very welcome to visit. There is an entrance test for all year groups and girls can join the school at Year 7, Year 9, Year 10 and Year 12. GCSEs and A levels are offered and more information is on the school website. Bursaries and scholarships are also available.
