About The Lawyer's Friend
Expert compliance and regulatory advice and consulting for Australian Lawyers. The Lawyer's Friend is a new venture by Jennie Pakula, building on three decades of experience working in legal services regulation. Ever since I started in legal profession regulation in 1994, I've been immersed in the world of small, personal law practices. I've spoken to many hundreds of small law firm owners, and I've dealt with or supervised something like 14-15,000 complaints. So I know what goes wrong from both the lawyer's and the client's perspectives. There are so many great lawyers out there, providing help to people going through some of the worst days of their lives. This is not an easy business, however. What I've seen is that many lawyers have learned ways of working that don't show the value of their services but can be fixed with some thought and better tools. Also, lawyers experience real anxiety when they have to deal with a regulatory issue - they need someone who knows the language and terrain to help them through. I'm your guide through this path. I particularly love to work with small to medium firms who work in the personal law areas, and who want to do things differently. I also love to help you solve your regulatory and compliance questions and concerns.
