About The Life Centre

The Life Centre is a friendly haven, where yoga, Pilates and natural therapies inspire well-being in the communities of Notting Hill and Islington, and for our many visitors from further afield - we love how our community spirit lifts everyone working or visiting here. Founded in Notting Hill 1993, The Life Centre is one of London’s oldest centres dedicated to yoga, Pilates and therapies. Over the years, many (maybe even most) of the UK’s top yoga and Pilates teachers have passed through the big wooden door of our Notting Hill centre, a beautiful quiet converted house and chapel – and several of our earliest students (and some of our original teachers and staff) are still Life Centre regulars. In 2011, we were delighted to open our second location, in Islington, a bright and cheery space with 2 large studios in a converted warehouse which offers a similarly broad range of classes to those in Notting Hill. In addition, in 2003, we set up our not for profit yoga education arm, Yogacampus, which offers one of the UK’s very top yoga teacher training programmes, as well as a wide range of other specialist courses and workshops. We believe firmly in the values of community: by being an integral part of the communities in Islington and Notting Hill, by playing our part in the wider London and UK yoga communities. At The Life Centre, you will be welcomed with a smile, and, after a few visits, probably greeted by name. We pride ourselves on employing friendly and knowledgeable staff with the experience to answer your questions about yoga, Pilates and therapies. We also believe that there is a yoga path for everyone: female or male, young or old, stiff or bendy; that that there are many authentic paths of yoga, all of which deserve respect; and that our teachers and therapists should be well trained, but should each retain their own unique style, approach and creativity.
