About The Limpsfield Cookery School

Founded in 2020 by Jacqueline Derbyshire, a self-confessed foodie, who has made it her mission to make cookery classes accessible to all. From our purpose built, farmhouse style kitchen, our top professionals teach in a fun and inclusive way. So whether you're starting out with the kitchen basics, practising your baking, or planning to learn a whole new cuisine, we will have a course for you! Jacqueline offers a wide range of courses to suit a variety of abilities and cuisines, including Vegetarian/Vegan/Sustainable Food, for which she has the wonderful Jenny Chandler on board. The School’s Executive Head Chef is Oliver Thompson (Jacqueline’s son-in-law), who is an award-winning chef who has trained at some of the top 3-star Michelin restaurants in the world. He will be taking meat, fish and fine dining classes. Well known Asian Chefs, Jaya Malani and Pamela Chen will be teaching Asian Fusion and Indian Cuisine, while Andy Tyrell from The River Cottage will be teaching Artisan bread-making. Celebrated Patisserie chef and author, Lucie Bennett, will be teaching patisserie and chocolate skills, from complete beginners to advanced Entremet, and Jacqueline Derbyshire will be leading the cake team, alongside exceptionally talented Sue Wilcox on for cake decorating and sugarcraft. Classes will either be half or full day, with a maximum of 8 students who will be take home all the delicious food they have cooked to enjoy with family and friends.
