About The Little Gallery
Visit Tairua's Little Gallery of Fine Arts, where discerning art enthusiasts can enjoy and purchase artworks by leading Coromandel and New Zealand artists. This diverse, intimate gallery prides itself on offering 'a little of the best'. A passion for people, artists, and the visual arts in all forms is realised through The Little Gallery, which supports and promotes over 40 artists from the Coromandel and around New Zealand. The space has become an exciting cultural rendevous for visitors, as well as a place of pride within the community. The Little Gallery is managed as a co-operative, where working artists volunteer time to support and run the gallery. This is a great way to bring artists forward into the public arena to promote their work, and enables gallery-goers the unique opportunity to talk with the artists directly about their art and practice. 'Artists in residence' is a new concept which showcases selected artists from the Coromandel who currently support and exhibit in The Little Gallery. In addition the gallery maintains an ongoing public programme, including artist talks and on-site demonstrations. These provide art lovers the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the works on display, as well learn more about the variety of artistic practices promoted by the gallery.
