About The Love Trust
The Love Trust, established in 2009, is a non-profit organisation with an aim to nurture future generations of servant leaders through delivery of excellent, values-based education to vulnerable children in communities of need. Learning from various educational initiatives and analysis of these, we have specifically chosen to start with children at 3 years with a vision to grow with them to adulthood. The first initiative of The Love Trust was the establishment of Nokuphila School. Nokuphila was opened in January 2010 to 45 preschoolers from the township of Tembisa (South Africa). Tembisa faces high unemployment, crime, child abuse and poverty. Nokuphila was established by The Love Trust to provide hope to children who most need it. Since then, The Love Trust has developed and grown three key project areas to deliver on its mission: 1. Low Fee Donor-based Independent Schools – in the context of the Love Trust, these are schools serving vulnerable children in communities of need, offering excellent, values-based education akin to that of top-performing private schools in South Africa. 2. ECD Teacher Training which involves an NQF Level 4 & Level 5 accredited training, equipping teachers and principals on how to best teach, grow and stimulate young minds. 3. ECD Centre Development which is the support provided to pre-schools and crèches in communities of need, partnering with principals and teachers to raise their standard and quality of ECD education. Reaching over 9000 primary and secondary beneficiaries already, The Love Trust hopes to continue making huge inroads into providing quality education to the poorest of the poor throughout South Africa.
