About The Magdalene Group

The Magdalene Group was founded in 1994 by two female magistrates and has been at the forefront of providing dedicated support, advocacy, and services to women and young people who have endured the trauma of violence and exploitation. We deliver these services via the following projects: Doorway Women's Service: Providing trauma-informed support and advocacy services to women in Norwich. Our work is holistic and includes a range of needs/multiple disadvantages such as homelessness, sofa-surfing, housing, isolation, mental and physical health needs, substance-use, domestic and sexual abuse, and contact with the criminal justice system. We offer a specialist support for women who sex-work and have been/are at risk of being sexually exploited and a dedicated abuse practitioner. Reaching Out on Sexual Exploitation (ROSE): Supports children and young people in Norfolk who have experienced, or are at risk of, sexual exploitation via Intensive 1:1 support, early intervention and group work. Jigsaw: Delivers a range of education and training services to support children, young people and those around them to understand, recognise and prevent exploitative relationships. We also offer bespoke training packages to a range of organisations such as education providers, social services, the police, a healthcare professionals and the voluntary sector. Most recently, after offering Bystander training to Night Time Economy Businesses.
