About The Make Spot

The Make Spot is a sewing studio and creative space in Chepstow on the border of Wales and England. Specialising in sewing and craft parties, workshops and events, we offer a warm and friendly studio environment to teach and inspire. We bring traditional techniques and methods to a fresh and modern style. Lucy has over 20 years' experience teaching textiles and art. Pursuing a lifelong dream of owning a sewing studio and creative space, Lucy turned the end of one career into an opportunity and The Make Spot was born! Taking the wealth of experience and creativity built up over a fabulous and inspirational career, she wanted to bring to the community a warm, welcoming and inspiring place to be able to pursue textile crafts, learn and grow. The Make Spot studio in Chepstow was custom-designed with generous space for 10 sewing stations. Unlike some other sewing spaces, Lucy wanted to ensure that there was a communal and social feel to the studio, so all stations are around a large central workspace. Offering a range of courses, classes, workshops and seasonal events, The Make Spot has something to offer everyone. The studio also sells a small range of premium fabrics and sewing materials.
