1）. Geographical Position Lianyungang is the east bridgehead of New Eurasia Continental Bridge. Xuwei New Area, as the major composition of Lianyungang’s “one center, three poles” urban layout, is the main support of developing port function and new strategic growth pole. 2）. Regional Planning With an area of about 467 km², Xuwei New Area is composed of three parts, namely, Xuwei port, about 74 km², near-port industry zone, about 175 km², and Dongxin Farm eco-agricultural zone, about 218 km². 3）. Strategic Orientation In accordance with Jiangsu Coastal Area Development planning, Xuwei New Area will become the new economic growth poles of Jiangsu Costal Area, that on the basis of deepwater port, depending on land bridge economic belt, gearing to the needs of Northeast Asia, blending into Yangtze River Delta regions, serving midwest parts and Huaihai economic zones, to undertake the strategic mission of being the demonstration zone of regional cooperation for China’s eastern, middle and western areas, circular economy representative area.
