About The Manton Avenue Project
The Manton Avenue Project's mission is to nurture the unique potential of children in Providence's Olneyville neighborhood by unleashing their creative voices and uniting them with professional artists to create original theater. At MAP we believe all young people deserve the opportunity to imagine strong futures. Formed in 2004, MAP teaches children the art of playwriting. Through playmaking, MAP sparks an expanding sense of possibility by building each child's capacity for personal and academic success and offers opportunities for Positive Youth Development. Our programs are tuition-free and always will be. We work primarily with children in Olneyville, a community that has been historically or continuously marginalized.
