The Medical Consultants Pathology Group The Medical Consultants Pathology Group (www.mcpathology.ie) is a standalone independent private histology laboratory based in the Northbrook Clinic in the heart of Dublin City. Established in January 2013 the laboratory provides a full laboratory service from wet tissue receipt, through technical processing and specialist reporting by a team of Consultant Histologists. The laboratory is led by a team of highly trained and experienced Consultant Pathologists, who provided a similar service to Mount Carmel Hospital from 1996 until it closed in 2013. The Consultants are: Prof. Susan Kennedy M.S.C M.D, FACP, FFP, RCPI, Consultant Histopathologist Dr. D Sean O’Briain MB MRCPATH, FFPATH, FRCPI, Consultant Histopathologist And Dr. Eoghan Mooney MB, MRCPI, MRCPATH, Consultant Histopathologist Our consultants hold substantive appointments in teaching hospitals across Dublin, including the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, St. Vincent’s University Hospital, and the National Maternity Hospital. Because of our close links to academic institutions we have ready access to specialty consultations, including urology, ophthalmic and skin, GIT, and head & neck pathology. The Laboratory provides a diagnostic histopathology service to the public and private hospital sector. We provide a cost effective outsourced solution for both short term and long term needs. We offer a full histology service or even a short term partial service to cover staff shortages. You tell us your requirements and we tailor a package to suit. We guarantee to meet the turnaround time norms of the Royal College of Pathology. The laboratory has been inspected by INAB for compliance with International standard ISO 15189 in June 2015 and has been recommended for formal accreditation at the next INAB board meeting (September 2015).
