About The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums | City of Platteville
The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums include a three-acre campus of beautiful historic buildings, the 1845 Bevans Lead Mine, and a 1931 outdoor mine train — with a mission to pursue excellence in regional and mining history. We are located at the eastern end of Platteville’s Historic District. Visit us to tour the Bevans Lead-Zinc Mine, ride in the mine train (weather permitting), and learn about the mining history of the Upper Mississippi Valley that led to Wisconsin's identity as the Badger State! World-class collections span the areas of natural history, cultural history, and science and industry.
