About The Missed Foundation
The Missed Foundation exists to humanise missing persons, alleviate the profound practical and emotional impacts on their families and transform the way society responds to this community issue. On average, 150 Australians are reported missing every day, and while most are found quickly, many remain missing long term. Research shows that at least 12 people are directly impacted when someone goes missing – emotionally, psychologically, financially – almost half a million Australians every year. People go missing for a broad range of reasons; misadventure, dementia, mental health, natural disaster and conflict. Missed is reframing this cause as a community issue – we encourage a collaborative effort between media, corporates, government, police and the public.
