About The Modern

'The Modern' is a shop and interior design studio for vintage and modern design furniture and interior advice with a timeless touch. The Modern is based in Amsterdam and Ibiza. Specializing in the work of Ray & Charles Eames, we are able to procure some of the rarest vintage examples manufactured by Zenith plastics and Herman Miller. The Modern supplies international collectors and private customers with chairs, lighting and other vintage items from the 20th century. Our items are always in high quality and best condition. We also have a great variety of modern design furniture such as Frama CPH, Form & Refine, DCW Editions and Carl Hansen & Son. The Modern has a real passion for what we are doing; importing and distributing used and new furniture - all with a remarkable design or long history. We mainly find our vintage items in The Netherlands, Germany and United States. Our modern items are mainly from Danish grounds, but we also have pieces from Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany or the United States. We buy our vintage from private people, at auctions and cooperate with other vintage dealers. We have customers and inquiries from all over the world. Our main markets are Europe and the US, but we also ship to our clients in destinations like Brazil, Australia, and the whole of Asia. There are no limits - we are in close cooperation with different shipping companies and can ship to every corner of the world. Besides importing and distributing design furniture, we also love to share our passion for interior design with you and help you create the house of your dreams.
