About The Movement for Quality Government in Israel
The Movement for Quality Government in Israel (MQG) is an independent, non-partisan, grassroots, non-profit organization that has been defending Israeli democracy and promoting the values of transparency, good governance and civic engagement in the Israeli society since 1990. With tens of thousands of members and continuously growing, MQG has evolved into one of Israel's largest and most effective public interest organizations. Benefiting all Israeli citizens irrespective of social, economic, ethnic or religious affiliation MQG not only exposes public corruption and regulative flaws, but actively promotes the rule of law and better government. Our proud of a record of achievements that is second to none. WATCHDOG LEGAL ACTION The MQG is on-call 24/7 alert to expose and prevent public misdeeds (both national and local) that violate Israel's legal and constitutional safeguards, e.g. the illegal use of public funds, inappropriate political appointments, bribe takings and bribe giving, the discrimination against whistle blowers, and the failure to implement regulations regarding transparency, oversite and freedom of information. SAFEGUARD PUBLIC FUNDS Wrongdoing is often both the result and cause of the mismanagement of public resources. The MQG safeguards and promotes the proper use of public funds and resources, placing special emphasis on fighting the corrosive effects of money in politics while working to expose market inefficiencies that are exploited to corrupt the political process. CAMPAIGN FOR AND BY THE PEOPLE MQG’s reputation for independence and efficacy enables us to give a voice to the people's fight against cronyism and interest groups. The MQG organizes public mass-movement campaigns and promotes legislative changes for and on behalf of the public. Our one and only concern is how to improve the quality of government for all of Israel’s citizens.
