About The Music Place

The Music Place started in a small office near Melbourne back in 1991. At that time, we hired quality brand new instruments to school children who couldn’t afford to buy a good quality sax, flute, clarinet or whatever. So many young players succeeded with their playing because they had instruments that worked properly. Parents and schools then saw the value in us stocking a range of quality instruments for sale at affordable prices. 1992 saw us moving to our first small retail store in South Melbourne. Our range of instruments and accessories has grown and grown since those early days and we are proud to offer just about everything that is available in the world of woodwind and brass instruments, mouthpieces and accessories. In 1999 we moved our store to bigger premises in South Melbourne and have continued to search worldwide to source new products as they have become available. Our clients can be assured of the latest equipment as well as traditional items being stocked. You will also be amazed at the number of vintage instruments and mouthpieces which we have at any one time. All of our staff are highly regarded performers, teachers or tertiary lecturers who share our commitment to customer care, respect and sincerity. They have passion for their chosen instruments, music in general and for passing on their experiences to help others along their own journey with music.
