The Music Works is a Gloucestershire charity which transforms lives through music. Our vision is for all children and young people in Gloucestershire – particularly those facing barriers in music, learning and life – to be able to realise their potential through music, and improve their life chances. Our mission is to work with young people to engage them through music and creativity, build confidence, self-belief and motivation; and so empower them to reach their potential. Many young people miss out on music-making – due to economic barriers, life condition, life circumstance or behavioural difficulties. In some cases they miss out simply because what’s on offer doesn’t take into account their musical interests and aspirations. We want to put that right. We specialise in music technology and production, singing and songwriting, rap and beatboxing – but we help young people to make the music they're passionate about – whether that’s pop, rock, urban, indie, blues, metal, dance, techno, hip-hop, punk, dubstep, reggae or many other types We work with all abilities, from absolute beginners to some of the county’s most skilled emerging artists.
