About The Muslim Center of Long Island aka Masjid Darul Qur'an
The story of Masjid Darul Quran, from one room at its inception to the present building, is a pure blessing of Almighty Allah (swt), which He has bestowed upon the Muslim Community of Bay Shore and its surrounding areas. Today Masjid Darul Quran is undoubtedly the most vibrant of the Islamic Centers on Long Island and hundreds of Muslims crisscross their paths at the Masjid on daily basis. Masjid has chosen, as its one of the main goals, to promote comprehensive programs for youth activities combining Islamic education with social, cultural and sports activities that would maximize the involvement of our new generation. Alhamdolillah, the main floor can accomodate 300 persons and Mezzanine can 150 sisters, while base ment has additional space for 200 people. It is the largest Muslim Center on Long Island with over 100 car parking on the facility. The Sunday School hosts 175 students. Daily evening classes for Quran reading are conducted for boys and girls. The center has a full time Director and Imam, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Jabbar PhD. He is available daily from 10:00am to 1:00pm for consultations and counseling. Please call the Mosque phone # 631-665.9462 to talk to Imam. Facilities exists on the premises for Basketball, ping-pong, cricket, and other sports. Masjid Darul Quran has a Banquet Facility for Islamic Functions including Weddings.
