About The National Fabry Disease Foundation
The NFDF is an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization in the U.S. We provide education and awareness about Fabry disease and support people with Fabry disease and their families with various valuable community support and assistance programs. We operate primarily in the U.S., with many education and information programs also offered globally. We are doing everything we can in cooperation with mutually minded people and organizations to fight against this progressive disease. People with Fabry disease experience a cascade of manifestations that begin in childhood, cause a diminished quality of life, and often progress to potentially life-threatening complications. We strive to help people with Fabry disease live better and longer lives. Our mission: To help ensure that all individuals with Fabry disease are identified, diagnosed, and treated in time to avoid a diminished quality of life or life-threatening consequences, to assist individuals with Fabry disease and their families, to provide Fabry disease education and awareness, to promote continued data-gathering and research to improve treatment opportunities and to find a cure.
