Welcome to NCA, a world leader in training acupuncturists, Chinese herbal medicine practitioners, and nutritional therapists. Pioneering Beginnings Founded in 1988 by Hugh MacPherson and Nicholas Haines, NCA introduced its first acupuncture program, evolving into a registered charity. Programs in Chinese herbal medicine (1994), nutritional therapy (2008), and The Practitioner Hub for acupuncture (2021) followed. We pioneered education, offering the UK's first university degree in acupuncture (MSc in Acupuncture with the University of Wales, 1995), a post-grad degree in Chinese herbal medicine (MSc, 2004), and earning professional accreditation for acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and nutritional therapy (1996, 2003, 2010).
