About The Norwalk Art Space

The Norwalk Art Space increases opportunities and equity in the local arts community by 1) providing free high-caliber art and music education, mentorship, and arts enrichment to under-served local students, and 2) offering a free 1-year program for under-recognized Connecticut artists, who receive free exhibition space, studio space, job training, mentorship, and promotion in exchange for teaching our free art classes for students. TNAS is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and multi-generational arts hub where all students, artists, and visitors feel heard and valued. Our programs, classes, and events are designed with inclusivity at their core, to reflect the rich diversity of Norwalk. This commitment guides our artist selection, exhibition curation, musical performances, and class offerings so our students can see themselves reflected in their teachers and the art and music filling the space.
