About The Opera League of Los Angeles

The Opera League of Los Angeles is an independent 501c3 nonprofit that supports LA Opera through educational and social programs, fundraising and volunteering. There are numerous, fun ways in which you can become involved with LA Opera as a volunteer while enjoying the many benefits of membership in the Opera League and getting to meet other opera lovers in our community. The League is the primary volunteer support organization for LA Opera, and its members work with LA Opera staff on a wide variety of programs including student matinees, teacher training sessions, Saturday Mornings at the Opera, and presenting opera talks to the community as a Community Educator. League members greet arriving artists and help them get settled in Los Angeles for their stay with LA Opera, provide potluck dinners for cast and crew during rehearsals, and work in the boutique in the lobby of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. In addition to volunteer opportunities, the Opera League offers its members informative educational programs including seminars and many social activities focused on opera, such as the annual Season Preview, Backstage Magic programs, musicales held in private homes around Southern California, and gatherings held at various locations in the community. Our goal is to expand the appreciation of opera throughout greater Los Angeles and the surrounding counties while providing volunteer support to LA Opera.
