The Orient Express specialises in vintage & antique furniture and decorator items from South East Asia. All items are original and very high quality. We have both a retail and commercial offering, and are building up an excellent portfolio of stunning commercial projects - including restaurants & bars, boutique hotels, and other retail fit outs. We offer trade discounts as well as a rental service - ideal for pre-sale home styling, film & TV production, photo shoots, plus weddings & events. OUR HISTORY The Orient Express has been a family business since its origins in 1998. From humble beginnings in Hong Kong, owner Murray Tozer saw an opportunity to bring something unique to Australia... something few people had seen. The first containers were sold by son, Paul... literally straight out of the back of a truck! 12 months later The Orient Express showroom was established in Victoria Street, Richmond and established itself as being one of the first retailers to offer Oriental antiques at an affordable price. Family members, Paul and Penny are now the face of the business, but with the ever watchful eye and words of advice plentiful from Murray! Our love of Asia and our passion of "hunting & gathering" every single treasure in our showroom is testament to our dedication! We now have 2000 sqm of showroom and warehouse space, filled to the rafters at any given time with containers arriving on average every 4 weeks. We pride ourselves on our eclectic mix of furniture from China, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Burma, Laos and of course a few local bits and bobs for a truly unique shopping experience!
